Rapid Replay

The product that
started it all.

Rapid Replay wasn't a client project. It was our product — built by the same founders and the same team behind Launch Labs. We took it from idea to an NBC Sports acquisition in under three years. That playbook is what we now hand to you.

The Story
We didn't take on a client. We built our own product.
Rapid Replay was a full end-to-end video platform — live streaming, real-time game analysis, and highlight distribution, all in one product. Coaches wanted instant access to plays. Parents and fans needed shareable clips to relive the moments that mattered.

The technical problems were real. We were streaming live from cell phones and fixed cameras, often in venues with spotty internet and no margin for failure. We were ingesting large volumes of game footage and processing it fast enough to surface highlights before the final whistle. Every piece of the pipeline had to hold under real-world conditions.

Nick Busto and Ben Swinford built this as founders, alongside the same Ukrainian development team that Launch Labs clients work with today. Every hard problem they solved on Rapid Replay became part of the playbook that Launch Labs runs on now.
The Outcome
Having built and sold your own product changes how you see everything else.
In 2022, Rapid Replay was acquired by NBC Sports. 287 million views. A team that grew from 2 engineers to 10. A codebase that held up under the scrutiny of enterprise due diligence.

You're working with founders who've been exactly where you are, and who've already made it to the other side.
"
Launch Labs has been a true business partner. They've been instrumental at all phases, and the platform we have today is a result of the partnership. We're just getting started.

"
Through experimentation, growth, and technical due diligence, Launch Labs' expertise helped us achieve our goals. We started with just 2 engineers and quickly grew to a team of 10 and an NBC Sports acquisition. They instantly understood our vision and delivered outstanding results — strong communication skills and a proactive approach throughout.

What Was Built

Three systems. One acquisition.

01
Live Streaming Infrastructure

Engineered to stream reliably from cell phones and fixed cameras in real venues: unpredictable internet, compressed timelines, zero tolerance for downtime. Built for the chaos of youth sports — dead zones, bad angles, and no second chances.

02
Real-Time Video Processing Pipeline

A backend that ingested large volumes of game footage and turned it into searchable, shareable highlights — fast. Speed and quality weren't a tradeoff. Both were required.

03
Highlight Distribution & Broadcast Tools

An end-to-end delivery layer that got the right clips to coaches, fans, and broadcasters in the right format, at the right time. The infrastructure that made NBC Sports take notice.
